Logitech K700 Wireless Keyboard/Track-mouse OEM

Welcome! Today's item of discussion is from Logitech.

We have all been down this road searching for a reliable keyboard to use on the couch or away from your office desk. Especially if you use your TV as a monitor and want to relax on the couch. This will work with any PC or Laptop that has a USB 2.0+ port. You do not need to worry about drivers if you have Windows 7. Once you plug in the USB unify adapter (the little communication device that talks to the keyboard), sit back and let it install in seconds. There are no other actions or software needed. The keys are very similar to a laptop with a overall sleek and thin design. I always expect nothing less than good quality from this manufacturer. I found that the touch mouse pad was very smooth and responsive. Although, if you want to use the "double click" tap feature, you must press CTRL+FN+PGUP to enable this each time the device is turned on. If you think the button below the touch pad is a left and right mouse click, think again. This was built mainly to control Google TV which does not require a right click. In order to use the right click function, the key between the right ALT and CTRL key will perform this. The range is superb even with other wireless devices in the same room. One thing you might find irritating is the default keyboard/mouse settings are used for any adjusting needed. This means your stationary keyboard and/or mouse will be affected as well. I found that I had to turn the mouse sensitivity up a notch or two to meet my standards. I had to turn the setting back before I use my stationary mouse or the pointer goes flying! Do not worry if you cannot find any batteries in the box because they come preinstalled. There are a couple other makes and models out there, but on a budget this will fit any needs.

Pro's

Con's
  • Bad location for the right click function key
  • No propitiatory software for customizing and configuring

  1. Thanks for this review.. I got this keyboard as well to use as a HTPC light-weight kb/mouse but didn't realise it would be without a right mouse button and double click!! I am sure it is entirely possible to hack some custom drivers to fix these issues but it isn't a very popular device, so I doubt anyone would go through the trouble!
It is still worth the money though, and as you said, the range is great!
